ABOUT LDS REVIEWS 4 MOVIES

We believe film is the most comprehensive art form.  It involves at least 3 of the 5 senses–sight, sound, and touch–yes, even touch for an excellent sound system will literally vibrate your body as a rocket spews forth its fire on the screen.  I’ve even heard of some theatres that have odor-emitting machines synchronized to go off at certain points during a film to further enhance an audience member’s experience.  To squeeze the sense of taste in there, it’s a bit of a stretch, but you always have the option of eating a tub of buttered popcorn while you sit back and watch.

A good film can inspire, uplift, and inform.  An excellent film can start a revolution.  A masterpiece film can transform generations.

As the  founding author of this blog, it is my mission to analyze the content of films (particulary independent ones which don’t seem to get enough reviews) based on an LDS perspective, specifically my own LDS perspective of standards.  Along with this main mission are several sub-missions:

1) To inform potential viewers in a comprehensive way of potentially offensive content as related to three categories: 1. Violence 2.Immorality and 3. Profanity.

2) To recommend not only LDS-themed movies produced in whole or part by LDS filmmakers, but also to recommend other independent films which are faith-promoting, Christian-based and/or family-centered.

3) To keep readers informed on the latest developments in the market of LDS-themed films and their development.

Special Notes:

1) This site is not endorsed by nor is it officially associated with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  Posts and comments are the direct responsibility of those making them.

2)  Your comments may take some time to appear since all comments are approved by LDS REVIEWS 4 MOVIES’ administrator before being posted.  Some comments may not appear based on irrelevance, potentially offensive content, and any other reason(s) the administrator feels such action is warranted.

2a) We realize that some of the movie reviews, which mention offensive content, potentially may be offensive themselves.  We do everything possible to keep the reviews tasteful in their description.  We apologize for any offense, even with this philosophy in place.  Thank you for your patronage.
